Marco Van Basten's autographed card, wearing an AC Milan jersey, published by Panini for the 2022/2023 Select Serie A Soccer series. The meeting between Marco van Basten and Arrigo Sacchi's AC Milan redefined the boundaries of beauty in football, transforming the Dutch striker into an absolute icon of sporting elegance. Arriving in Milan in 1987, the "Swan of Utrecht" became the perfect end point of a revolutionary collective machine, capable of combining an almost choreographic aesthetic grace with unparalleled finishing ruthlessness. Wearing the Rossoneri jersey, Van Basten won three Ballon d'Or awards and enjoyed a succession of legendary triumphs, from the European Cups he dominated to the three Scudetto titles that marked the Berlusconi era. However, his love affair with the San Siro pitch was marked by a cruel fate in the form of frail ankles, which forced him into premature retirement at just 28, at the height of his competitive maturity.
