A copy of Uncanny X-Men #248 (1989) graded by CGC (7.0) and signed by Jim Lee. Uncanny X-Men #248, published in September 1989, is a comic of enormous historical and collectible importance, especially for the sea change in the creative team that marked a new phase in the popularity of Marvel's mutants. The issue is notable for being the first time legendary artist Jim Lee provided interior pencils for the main X-Men series. Although he had previously worked briefly on the title, it was with this issue that his dynamic, detailed, and muscular style began to define the X-Men aesthetic throughout the 1990s, propelling the comic to unprecedented sales heights. Written by veteran Chris Claremont, the comic continues the adventures of the X-Men, who at the time had settled in Australia and were believed dead by the rest of the world.
