Information
Livorno, Tommaso Masi e Comp., with Bodoni types, 1807-13. Large 8°, 257 x 180 mm. 4 volumes. This is perhaps one of the "wide-margined" copies printed on separate paper, as indicated by Mambelli, no. 94. Portrait of the author on the frontispiece, plates opening the three canticles with their respective structures, some browned paper, copy with margins, 19th-century hardboard binding.
Specialist Notes
Mambelli, n.94: "A very valuable edition, edited by Gaetano Poggiali who used the 1595 and 1726 editions and various lessons taken from a codex...believed to have belonged to Pier del Nero."
