Large format sepia-toned photograph, albumen on cardboard, depicting a marble bust on a cylindrical plinth of Giuseppe Garibaldi , the hero of the Italian Risorgimento.

On the lower right part of the support is a handwritten dedication in ink, which reads " To Anton Giulio Barrili / soul of a refined soldier and valiant writer / this effigy of the legendary Hero / homage to the artist, to the patriot / the comrade-in-arms offers / ... " handwritten by the sculptor who created the bust in the photo.

The recipient, Anton Giulio Barrili (Savona 1836 – Genoa 1908), Italian writer, Garibaldian patriot and personal friend of

Garibaldi. Barrili fought alongside Garibaldi in the 1860 Campaign (Expedition of the Thousand) and was his biographer and close friend.

It measures approximately 300x415mm, oxidations, signs of aging, good condition
