Information

375x260mm
Original black and white photo of the Italian national football team in a 1946 lineup with autographed signatures in black ink.

Standing: Castigliano, Mazzola, Loik, Ferraris, Ballarin, Rigamonti, Maroso
Crouching: Martelli, Gabetto, Bacigalupo, Grezar

In fact, the team consisted of nine-elevenths of players from what was then the GREAT TORINO , a legend of Italian football. The photo was personalized with the addition of a small photographic portrait of the player who was replacing Mazzola that match.
The autographed signatures present are of the following players in order of appearance: Castiglione, Ezio Loik, Ferraris, Aldo Ballarin, Mario Rigamonti, Maroso, Martelli, Guglielmo Gabetto, Bacigalupo, Grezar

In addition to its sporting achievements, Torino became even more legendary for the Superga Tragedy . On its return from Lisbon, on May 4, 1949, at 5:05 PM, the Avio Linee Italiane FIAT G. 212 three-engine plane crashed into the retaining walls of the garden behind the Basilica of Superga, causing the instant death of all thirty-one people on board: players, coaching staff, journalists, and crew.

It measures approximately 375x260mm
